A perfect locket for any mermaid, this striking and unique necklace features a genuine and rare ocean-tumbled sea glass marble, beautifully frosted and marked by the sea, and preserved exactly as it was found in a bespoke handcrafted solid silver cage - the design of which is unique to Willow & Twigg!

The sea glass marble is a beautiful classic aqua green colour with just the hint of a white banded 'cats eye' and a lovely rounded shape. It has a very tactile, gorgeously frosted surface and has been naturally tumbled by the ocean. As a result of this journey it has all the beautiful 'C' marks and tiny inclusions that are characteristic of authentic sea glass and indicative of the many years spent being worn by the waves; these should be visible in the close-up photos.

It has been securely set into a teardrop-shaped cage made from shiny recycled solid silver that has eight bars and a floral cap. It is suspended from the top by means of a simple hanging bail of two sterling silver rings. This style of setting allows the light to pass through the glass and highlights its beautiful translucency, whilst enabling the colour to be seen and allowing it to 'glow' in the sunlight.

The marble featured in this pendant measures approximately 14mm across, and the cage itself measures 20mm across at the widest part and is 30mm in length from the base to the top of the fixed hanging ring.

It has been paired with a 50cm/20" solid sterling silver belcher chain which fastens with a lobster trigger clasp. The chain is a thicker and stronger style to match the weight of the pendant, and I do usually have other chains available if you would prefer an alternative style or length - please message and ask before purchasing if you would like a different one to that which is shown here.

This is a beautifully unique 'one of a kind' necklace, featuring one of the ocean's rarest treasures in a simple yet striking style - perfect for all lovers of the ocean and great as a gift!

Please note - the marble is not removable and the cage does not open in any way.

Whilst I do have several of these 'cage' style necklaces available, due to the variations in the colours and sizes of the sea glass marbles used and the resulting shapes of each setting, they will be photographed and listed individually as 'one of a kind' pieces. Due to weight and value, this necklace will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.

Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail's ‘Tracked 24’ service (delivery estimate within 2-3 working days), with an optional upgrade to an express 'Special Delivery' service available at checkout for an additional charge (delivery estimate 1-2 working days).

I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrade in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.
