Sold individually, these striking contemporary 'Keys To The Sea' sterling silver pendants are evocative of ocean waves, flowing water and perhaps even a dreamcatcher for a mermaid..!
Each one features a large central hammered ring with five dangling charms of graduated lengths, each of which has been individually and uniquely embellished with a series of small silver rings and spheres. They have been fully hallmarked by the London Assay Office.
The pendants have been formed using traditional metalsmithing techniques and include recycled offcuts and silver scraps which have been been melted down and re-shaped to create an unusual and standout contemporary piece of jewellery.
Each one hangs from a bail made up of three sterling silver rings, and is paired with a medium weight solid silver belcher or 'rolo' chain necklace that fastens with a trigger clasp. The chain can be fastened at either 20"/50cm or 22"/56cm (shown worn at the longer length in the photo.)
The main circular ring measures 2.2cm across in diameter, and the hanging charms vary in length to a maximum of 4.5cm for the largest central one.
Both the pendants and matching chains have been oxidised with a darkening patina to create a vintage and aged look, before being given a modern soft, satin, brushed finish.
These necklaces have a very organic, rustic feel, with a modern and almost grungy look which some say is reminiscent of seaweed or flowing water. They are also incredibly tactile with a gentle jangling sound which is perfect for those who like to play with their jewellery as they wear it!
Due to its weight each pendant has been fully hallmarked by The London Assay Office as 925 Sterling Silver and also includes my own unique sponsor's/makers mark 'KAT'. This serves as a guarantee of authenticity to prove that the metal is of the quality and finesse described.
Please be aware that these necklaces are sold individually, and whilst each has been made to the same pattern and design they are entirely made by hand and therefore will have subtle differences from each other. This is one of the benefits of artisan made jewellery - each piece will, by its very nature, be unique!
Due to weight and value, this necklace will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.
Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail's ‘Tracked 24’ service (delivery estimate within 2-3 working days), with an optional upgrade to an express 'Special Delivery' service available at checkout for an additional charge (delivery estimate 1-2 working days).
I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrade in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.
Please be aware that I am unable to guarantee specific delivery times of orders once posted but an estimate will be provided on checkout. This is a guide only.
If you wish to include a short handwritten message on a tag then I am more than happy to provide this service free of charge. Please enter any required text in the optional box to the left of the images.
In addition, if you wish the item to be sent direct to the recipient, then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.
Aftercare advice on how to best care for your handmade jewellery will be provided in a leaflet with every order, but can also be found at the link HERE.
More information on payment and shipping, along with a copy of our full terms and conditions and privacy policy can be found at the links in the main menu and at the footer of each page.
And finally, if there is anything else at all that you would like to know about a particular item then please don’t hesitate to send a message and I’ll do my best to help!
