The stone was sourced from a known Lapidary in the USA, and is the most stunning dark grey-blue shade with maroon and white banding patterns, making it truly unique. It has a gently domed surface and has been polished to a soft matte sheen.
The chain is a classic medium weight belcher chain, and fastens with a lobster style trigger clasp. It measures 22" (56cm) in total, but the clasp will also fasten into any of the links in the chain making it adjustable if required.
The whole piece has been oxidised to add definition to the setting before being polished back to a soft matte finish, with the butterfly on the reverse having a contrasting high shine. A very striking piece of jewellery that is a great conversation starter!
This type of stone is called Sonoran Dendritic because of its strong dendritic patterns, and the fact that it is found in the state of Sonora, Mexico. It is directly south of Arizona and California.
It has a blue-gray or yellow background colour with maroon dendrites growing off of the sealed fracture lines. The dendrites are surrounded by beautiful white halos as if their formation absorbed colour from the surrounding rock. Sometimes the base can also contain some pink shades with soft banding.
Rhyolite is a volcanic rock and believed to help with fulfilling goals and making dreams come true, whilst also strengthening the soul, body and mind. It has strong associations with the Earth and while it is not officially a birthstone, it is a zodiac stone of Gemini, Sagittarius and Aquarius.
Due to weight and value, this necklace will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.
Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail's ‘Tracked 24’ service (delivery estimate within 2-3 working days), with an optional upgrade to an express 'Special Delivery' service available at checkout for an additional charge (delivery estimate 1-2 working days).
I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrade in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.
Please be aware that I am unable to guarantee specific delivery times of orders once posted but an estimate will be provided on checkout. This is a guide only.
If you wish to include a short handwritten message on a tag then I am more than happy to provide this service free of charge. Please enter any required text in the optional box to the left of the images.
In addition, if you wish the item to be sent direct to the recipient, then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.
Aftercare advice on how to best care for your handmade jewellery will be provided in a leaflet with every order, but can also be found at the link HERE.
More information on payment and shipping, along with a copy of our full terms and conditions and privacy policy can be found at the links in the main menu and at the footer of each page.
And finally, if there is anything else at all that you would like to know about a particular item then please don’t hesitate to send a message and I’ll do my best to help!
