This beautiful and unique 'one of a kind' pendant is handcrafted in sterling silver and features a gorgeous Aquamarine gemstone, with a cutout detail of a seahorse on the reverse of the backplate.

The pendant measures 30mm wide by 51mm long (not including the hanging loops) and is 10mm deep. The stone is enclosed in its setting by plain fine silver bezel wire, with some tiny silver spheres on either side as embellishments, and a solid backplate with a hand-sawn seahorse detailing.

The stone is the most stunning aqua green-blue colour with visible crystal lines and just a little hint of natural sparkle, making it truly unique. It has a gently domed surface and has been polished to a glossy sheen.

The chain is a classic medium weight belcher chain, and fastens with a lobster style trigger clasp. It measures 22" (56cm) in total, but the clasp will also fasten into any of the links in the chain making it possible to shorten if required. I can also change the length of the chain if you would prefer an alternative - please just message before purchase if that is the case!

The whole piece has been oxidised to add definition to the setting before being polished back to a soft matte finish. A very striking piece of jewellery that is a great conversation starter and the perfect talisman for any ocean lover!

Due to its weight this pendant has been fully hallmarked by The London Assay Office as 925 Sterling Silver and also includes my own unique sponsor's/makers mark 'KAT'. This serves as a guarantee of authenticity to prove that the metal is of the quality and finesse described.

ABOUT THE STONE

The name 'Aquamarine' come from the Latin 'aqua marinus' meaning 'water of the sea' and refers to its beautiful ocean-like colour. This colour, consisting of varying shades of blue through to green, is caused by iron oxides within the makeup of the stones.

In ancient folklore Aquamarine was believed to be the treasure of mermaids and was used by sailors as a talisman of good luck, fearlessness and protection. It was also considered a stone of eternal youth and happiness.

Today it protects all who travel by, over or near water. It is also the traditional birthstone for the month of March.

PACKAGING & SHIPPING

Due to weight and value, this necklace will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.

Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail's ‘Tracked 24’ service (delivery estimate within 2-3 working days), with an optional upgrade to an express 'Special Delivery' service available at checkout for an additional charge (delivery estimate 1-2 working days).

I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrade in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.
